H, HB, 2B & 4B graphite pencils and a Q-Tip.

My brother Ian. He is almost 16 years old and has Down Syndrome. I enjoyed drawing his portrait because there is beauty even in his non-typical face. And there is an innocent soul looking out of his eyes.

Edit: This is the updated scan. It captures the nuances of the original work much more faithfully than the first scan.

Awesome drawing, nice to see such work, you know, everyone (including me) draws people that are "perfect" on the outside, but they are empty, we forget there is something more important than looks. Thanks for reminding me of this :)
